The mission of the EPIC Data lab (short for Effective Programming, Interaction, and Computation with Data) is to develop low-code and no-code interfaces for data work, powered by next-generation predictive programming techniques. The EPIC Data lab follows in the long tradition of Berkeley’s multidisciplinary systems labs, with a heavy emphasis on impact, on research and in practice. We are targeting a variety of applications, with a special emphasis on under-resourced groups in social justice. We are drawing on expertise from multiple disciplines, including data management, human-computer interaction, machine learning, and programming systems. And we are committed to fostering an inclusive and safe environment for all, independent of background. Join us — it’s going to be EPIC!
